Philadelphia High School Named National Beta School of Merit
Philadelphia Public Schools is proud to announce that Philadelphia High School is a 2022-2023 National Beta School of Merit. The school earned this recognition by offering National Beta to all eligible grades on their campus. National Junior Beta includes grades 4-8 and National Senior Beta includes grades 9-12.
PPSD School Board and Superintendent Whitehead attended the Mississippi School Boards Association (MSBA) 51st Annual Conference.
The MSBA Annual Conference brings together school board members and education leaders from across the state to share information that shapes the future of our students. The conference provides two and one-half days of significant presentations and experiences to energize your leadership team and district.
City schools increase to ‘C’ rating
Dr. Shannon Whitehead, Superintendent of the Philadelphia Public School District, said she was proud to announce the district was “rated successful” with a “C” rating but is excited to get to work this year on ways to improve the school's accountability rating. Whitehead said that is up from a “D” rating received for the 2018-2019 school year.
Convocation gets Philly school year rolling

Philadelphia Elementary Students Experiences Nature at Conservation Carnival
Neshoba County Soil and Water Conservation taught PES 5th grade students about how to use natural resources at the annual Conservation Carnival held at the Neshoba County Coliseum.
